JEFF ROSE, CFP, (Carbondale, IL) is a Certified Financial Planner(t) and an Iraq combat veteran. A regular contributor to U.S. News & World Report, MarketWatch, and, he is the author of two popular personal finance blogs, and the nation ally recognized, which has been featured in Forbes, The Huffington Post, Kiplinger, and The Wall Street Journal.

It doesn’t take a soldier to understand the importance of discipline. Just ask a mother!   Because managing our daily household budget is a top priority for me, I’ve found myself consulting more and more finance blogs and books to help us not only plan an effective day-to-day budget, but also help us plan for the long-term. Some finance books can be very boring and because I simply don’t have time to mull over the heavy language, I often end up tossing these books to the side. But this book is different. It is organized and relatable and I found myself completely invested in the author’s personal stories. I also appreciate all the lists that he provides throughout the book.  This book both educates and inspires me.
